Media Innumeracy in One Short Sentence

This morning (August 4) on NPR’s Weekend Edition there was a great example of media innumeracy in one short sentence. The announcer was reporting on the power outages in India.  “Almost 700 milli0n people — that’s more than half a billion — were without power.”

Sigh.
