This will be the first of many articles I plan to post describing why tariffs are bad.  This one is a little technical.  It deals with the Obama administrations tariffs on tires imported from China.  My colleague Tom Prusa at Rutgers crunched the numbers.  The table above summarizes his results.  The full article is posted below along with a page inserted by me discussing the outcomes using the actual tariffs (p.3a).
