California Tax Dollars at Work, Coronation Edition

I am a semi-retired professor at California State University, East Bay.  Our interim president recently had the “interim” removed from his title.  Today I received an invitation to his investiture.  If you live in California (or just want a good laugh), here’s your California tax dollars at work, coronation edition.

First, there is a heavy cardboard sheath:

All of this was paid for out of the CSUEB budget.  I searched in vain for the sentence “not printed or mailed at CSUEB expense.”  No luck.

In case it’s not clear, I will not attend this event.
