NSFW: A Correspondent Weighs In on the ACA

@BayAreaHausFrau is another long-suffering Californian trying to survive the madness that has taken over our once-wonderful state.  She recently posted a Twitter thread about the ACA.  Reprinted here with permission.  Threading and pdf creation done using ThreadReaderApp. And you gotta love her Twitter avi. They needed the money of the responsible people who were purchasing a plan and paying their premiums to offset those now subsidised or paying nothing.

The feckless Republican Congress were only able to remove the individual mandate, which would have allowed individuals to purchase renewable temporary plans at far better premiums. The State of California will not allow those to be sold.

I suspect the irony in all this will be that the current situation will seem dreamy after Gavin Newsom institutes statewide universal healthcare.
