Over on Twitter (sorry, Elon) someone claimed China was the largest foreign holder of US debt. I thought I remembered Japan holding that title. So I did what any good economist would do: I looked for data on the foreign holdings of US government debt. The obvious place to start was Treasury.gov. Sure enough, I quickly found the data.
